| Abstract: |
| The general development situation of flotation column in China and other countries, and constructions of flotation columns are described. It is held that the performances of China-made flotation columns are compared to those manufactured abroad. However shortage of electricity has restricted their wide application in China. Since the power supply to mineral processing plants are not guaranteed, flotation columns have been shut down frequently, as a result the pulp in the column must be draw off and large quantities of minerals washed away. In view of this, mineral dressing plants would rather use flotation machines than columns. Finally, necessary conditions are proposed to rehabilitate the wide introduction of flotation columns. |
