Abstract:
Diamond coatings were deposited on YG6 substrates with different surface characteristics by using HFACVD method, taking hydrogen and ethyl alcohol as raw materials. The formed diamond coatings were then examined by laser Raman spectroscopy, XRD and SEM. The grinding test results showed that the surface roughness and cobalt content strongly influened the adhesion of diamond coatings to the YG6 substrates. Lower cobalt content on YG6 surface and higher surface roughness resulted in better adhesion strength of diamond coatings to the YG6 hard alloy substrates.
