Abstract:
      A new technology for producing commercial nickel sulfate has been applied t o industrial production successfully. Which adopts selective oxi-dizing-lcaching of nickel middlings with sulfuric acid under atmospheric and pres-sure conditio ns followed by evaporation and crystalization process. The technolo-gy provides a new method for China to produce high-quality nickel sulfate. Com-pared with technologies used in foreign countr ies whicn adopt pressure leaching of nickel-rich matte for production nickel sulfate,this new technology eliminates the step of ir on and copper removal.Production practice has proved that this techn ology has many advantages,such as less pr ocess-steps,easier to operate,higher recovery of nickel, pollution-free,higher economic benefits,etc. This technology is also suitable for treating nickel-rich matte and other materials con-taining nickel.The article summarizes main results of laboratory tests and indus-trial product ion,The leaching efficiency of nickel is higher than 95%,and th product comes up to the National Standard of nickel suifat e for industrial use.
