Abstract:
In order to extract fine gold from pyrite slag, the hydrophobic flocculation flotation was studied and compared with conventional flotation. The main parameters of affecting beneficiation such as flotation reagent, the duration of agitation and the addition of non-polar oil were investigated. It demonstrated that the hydrophobic flocculation flotation was better than the conventional flotation. The non-polar oil and the intensive agitation are key to improve the gold grade and recovery. The hydrophobic flocculation flotation was used to treat the pyrite slag, assaying gold 2.94g/t and all of which are minus 0.010mm, a gold concentrate assaying Au 126.3g/t with 51.35% recovery was obtained. A new way of extracting fine gold from pyrite slag was open by using up the flotation of hydrophobic flocculation.
