| Abstract: |
| The relationship between the characteristic curve and the sediment curve in a gravity sedimentation was discussed, and origination of the characteristics was analyzed by two phases flow wave theory. Two mathematical equations for calculating underflow density and unit areas of a continuous thickener was developed and verified. |
