| Abstract: |
| The working features of slurry pumps at a concentrator are described in this paper. Generally, the slurry volume transported by a pump is changeable and often controlled with valves manually. Therefore, the energy consumption of the pump motor is fixed and high. According to the principle of a frequency speed controller, the rotating speed of the pump motor can be changed through automatically regulating frequency of power supply, thus making pump running fit the productive slurry flow. Since the energy consumption of a motor is related to third power of its rotating speed, using the frequency speed controller can decrease power consumption considerably. |
