| Abstract: |
| The solidifying structure and fracture morphology of Al 2O 3/Al Si alloy composites manufactured by squeeze casting are studied The results indicate that the Al 2O 3 fibers is uniform in distribution and can be serve as the site for heterogeneous nucleation of silicon phase and that the interface between the fibers and the aluminum alloy matrix has a great effect on mechanical properties of the composites Improvement of manufacture techniques should start with controlling interface reaction and fining the structure of the composites |
