| From aluminum cell baking,penetration of sodium and electrolyte melt into cathode carbon block,formation of aluminum carbide,cell bottom protrusion and cell operation, the cathode failures were discussed Some measures able to increase the cell life, such as use of high quality carbon cathode,low cryolite ratio electrolyte,cell lining structure with side heat conduction and cell preheating method and improvement of busbar design,were proposed |
