| Abstract: |
| The low-grade deposit of Jinchuan Nonferrous Metal Company is taken as a studying object. A simulation model on 3D joint network is established based on the determined cavability of ore and rock and on the field investigation in natural discontinuities in an orebody. The ore fragment size for block caving is predicted by means of topology, vector field conception and computer simulation technology. The ore fragment size has a direct influence on the configuration of stope bottom, the selection of loading and handling equipment, secondary crushing method, the calculation of explosive consumption and so on. The simulation results show that the fragment with one-dimensional size of more than 1.2m accounts for 32.61 per cent of the total fragment volume. These results can be used as theoretical basis for design and practice of block caving. |
