Abstract:
In this paper,a new flotation method, the CF method, for separation of lead and zinc oxides from calcium, magnesium, iron and silicon minerals is introduced and the effects of a series of factors on the CF method are investigated. In this method, the collector CF, a kind of chelate collector for flotation of oxides, is taken as a core, Pb(NO 3) 2 as activator and water glass and (NaPO 3) 6 as selective depressants for calcite, dolomite, quartz and limonite. The results of flotation tests using mono mineral and mineral mixtures indicate that the flotation separation of lead and zinc oxides from calcium, magnesium, iron and silicon gangues can be effectively achieved by the CF method at room temperature and natural pH value and better flotation results obtained. The remarkable features of the CF method are that the lead and zinc oxides are selectively activated and the dosage of the CF decreased by addition of Pb(NO 3) 2 and without heating and pre-sulphidization with sodium sulphide
