Abstract:
Slurry electrolysis is a new technology of hydrometallurgy developed in recent years. In this paper, the mechanism of leaching ocean polymetallic nodules by slurry electrolysis is expatiated and Effects of technological parameters such as coulomb,pH and particle size on valuable metal leaching are elucidated. The results show that slurry electrolysis is feasible for treatment of ocean polymetallic nodules in the HCl-NaCl medium.Under the optimized conditions, the leaching rates of such valuable metals as manganese, cobalt, nickel and copper are up to 97% without exception and the electrolytic MnO_2 is produced on the anode.
