| Whiskers is one of the important intensifiers in compound materials and therefore the study and development of it have been paid much attention.In this paper,the characteristics of whiskers and calcium sulfate whiskers are discussed.Hydrothermal method is used to prepare the calcium sulfate whiskers with gypsum(CaSO_42H_2O) as raw material.The preparation mechanism,flowsheet and characteristics are introduced. Calcium sulfate whiskers with diameter of 0.24.0m,length of 35150m is prepared under the suitable experimental conditions.The results analyzed by X-ray show that the content of anhydrous calcium sulfate is 97.0% by weight.The calcium sulfate whiskers with stable size,excellent performance and low-cost can be obtained by using this method.The application of calcium sulfate whiskers is also researched in this paper. |
