Abstract:
      Spontaneous combustion of coal stockpile is a key problem to be solved for safety in coal production and storage. It is very needed to get detailed knowledge of this process. In this paper, a 2D mathematical model is established to describe the spontaneous combustion process of coal stockpiles. The governing equations include heat transfer equation and oxygen transfer equation. The detailed heating - up process of a coal stockpile is obtained and the effects of different stacking types are also analysed. These results offer theoretical bases for luther studying spontaneous combustion process of coal stockpiles.
