Abstract:
      The mathematic models are resolved with EXCEL and MATLAB respectively, illustrated by the example of Huize galena flotation kinetic models. The study indicates that the programming solver tool of EXCEL is simple and quick, which is applicable for technician with normal mathematics knowledge, however, MATLAB could resolve all kinds of complex models with powerful computing ability. Both fitting error analysis and correlation coefficient R2 between fitted recovery and actual recovery show that multi-rate flotation model can simulate the galena flotation process better. The expertise of these 2 softwares of EXCEL and MATLAB can be concluded and further improve their potential to solve problems of mineral flotation kinetics.
