Abstract:
On the basis of the theoretical analysis of fiber bragg grating sensing principle, an experimental study is performed on the characteristics of wavelength changing in FBG for mine safety monitoring. The temperature and strain sensing characteristics of FBG installed on rock are investigated by incubator and pressure device, and the experimental results are analyzed. The results of experimental indicate that there is a good linear variation relationship between the wavelength of FBG and temperature or axial strain with good repeatability. The effectiveness of FBG for monitoring optical fiber compressive and tensile strains are verified. This paper provides theoretical foundation and experimental data for the applications of FBG in the structural health monitoring of mining engineering, which has important reference and significance for the mine safety monitoring.
