| Abstract: |
| The characteristics of Guang xi bentonite ore were studied systematically through chemical analysis, XRD, SEM, differential thermal analysis and physical and chemical properties analysis. It showed, the bentonite ore was calcium-based-bentonite, the main gangue minerals were quartz and feldspar, and the content of montmorillonite is 36.50%. Using free settling classification, -2 μm graded ore was gained, with a yield of 3.7%, and with content of montmorillonite for 61.47%, its inflation index, gelling index and bibulous rate were 7.50 mL/2g,160.00 mL/15g,331.94%, respectively. The ore couldn’t reach the lowest standard of Ca-bentonite using for metallurgy pellet, but the grain of -2 μm can reach the requirements of the secondary-class product of the national standards using for metallurgy pellet, which showed this ore had a certain industrial value. |
