Abstract:
Wenchuan earthquake caused tailing dams destroyed and collapsed under different degrees in quake-stricken areas. Under such condition, it is quite important to research the stability of tailing dams under special running conditions. The flood raises saturation lines of dams while the earthquake shears and destroys dams repeatedly. As a result, tailing dams liquefy in large areas, which causes tailings dams collapsed. Firstly seepage fields of tailing dams under flood level are analyzed by module Seep/W. Next, module Quake/W is applied to work out the initial stress situations of dams. Then, Wenchuan earthquake wave is input in module Quake/W to analyze dynamic reaction of the quake. Lastly, module Slope/W is applied to analyze the safety and stability of dams to work out the latent slide interface and minimum safety factory. By taking Geo Studio to analyze the data of dams under special running conditions, information about safety situation of tailing dams can be obtained and results are reliable.
