| Abstract: |
| Using the results of comminution tests by piston-die compressive stressing of particle-bed with narrow size fractions, the suitability of a previously-developed material-characterization model for interparticle breakage is verified for 3 iron ores. The methodology for determining the material parameters of this model based on test results of compressive stressing of particle-bed with wide particle-size distribution is investigated. It is shown that the laboratory particle-bed compressive comminution test combined with mathematical modelling technique may provide an effective way to study and optimize the size-reduction of ore material by interparticle breakage. |
