Abstract: |
Low decomposition rate, long decomposition time, high seed ratio, and instable production quality are the main problem in Chinese Bayer process alumina production. Based on the investigation of decomposition temperature, caustic ratio of stock solution, seed production and content of impurity in sodium aluminate solution, this paper proposes a series of optimization approach for seed decomposition process, such as low caustic ratio of stock solution, two step cooling decomposition method, seed activity raise by acetic acid, low Ns, Nc content in sodium aluminate solution and tadditive addition. At the same time, to improve the product quality and increase output, specific measures are proposed according to different alumina production process, which shows reference for alumina production in China. |
