Abstract:
Acid-leaching and electrowinning process on a manganese carbonate ore from Chongqing was studied. Effects of ore particle size, acid/ore ratio, leaching temperature and time on leaching rate of manganese were investigated and leaching-electrowinning cycle test were conducted. Results showed that under an optimum leaching condition as: particle size of 90% of -0.15mm, acid/ore ratio of 0.6, leaching temperature of 60℃ ,L/S ratio of 8:1,and leaching time of 4h,leaching rate of manganese could reach 91.89%, and a cathode manganese product with Mn≥99.8% could be steadily obtained. Leaching rate of manganese was around 90% when anolyte recycled to leaching circuit.
