Abstract:
Coconut shell activated carbon has been widely used in CIP process as adsorbing material in the world. When using coconut shell activated carbon adsorption, the main reason of loss gold-loaded carbon is the wear of surface. For this reason, we should take steps to polishing pretreatment before put activated carbon into agitation tanks, in order to reduce the fragile parts of activated carbon surface which can cause the loss of gold and silver. This paper compares several polishing pretreatment methods. The conclusion is that mix activated carbon with water; stir the mixture in a container which diameter is exactly twice the stirring paddle diameter. Using this method can obtain good effective activated carbon.Through the forecast of economic benefit analysis, found the appropriate polishing pretreatment is necessary.
