Abstract:
The waste water containing dilute hydrochloric acid and oxalic acid, caused by washing oxalate precipitations of rare earths, has been treated by an amine extractant in the present research, and it was shown that all of the H and the relative anions in the waste water could be extracted into the organic phase by the amine extractant, thereby the waste water was purified enough to be recycled as washing water of oxalate precipitations again. The factors effecting extraction or extractant regeneration have been investigated so that the optimized processing of treating the acidic waster water has been determined. The further results results also showed that the quality of the products which were obtained from the oxalates washed with the recycled water could reach to requirement of state criterion. Moreover, the total washing water volume can be significantly reduced above 80%
