Abstract:
Using the bacteria derived from a acid mine drainage in Zijin gold and copper area, the different initial pH values and energy substrates(elemental sulfur, and Fe2 ) were investigated on the effect of bacterial oxidation activity, and then the compositions and surface properties of corresponding solid products were analyzed. The results showed that: In the initial pH 2.20 conditions, elemental sulfur and Fe2 bacterial oxidation activity was significantly higher than the initial pH1.80 and 2.00 conditions; The growth period of bacteria using Fe2 as the energy substrate was significantly shorter than that of elemental sulfur; the solid product remained elemental sulfur using sulfur as energy substrate, but -COOH, -OH, -CO, -CONH functional groups were found on the surface of the leaching residue; the solid products of Fe2 bacterial oxidation were identified as jarosite, meanwhile the more functional groups appeared on the surface of solid products, indicating that the bacterial oxidation ability of Fe2 was stronger than that of elemental sulfur.
