Abstract:
The process mineralogy of tailings separated from sea-floor hydrothermal sediment from TVG21 routes was carried out. The loss of valuable element Cu in the tailings is serious, and its grade gets up to 6.06%. The research results show that copper minerals in the tailings are mainly atacamite, followed by traces of copper sulfide minerals; And atacamite losses mainly in the form of liberated particles, while copper sulfide minerals are mainly included as fine or micro-fine particles in talc or other gangue. That is to say, the hydrometallurgy process is more effective for the recovery of Cu than mechanical beneficiation process.
