| Abstract: |
| Bayan Obo Tailing Dam have stored a large resource of tailings after iron and REE selection, the iron grade in study sample is 16.71%. the means of optical microscope, chemical phase analysis as well as MLA has been utilized to study the Fe occurrence state in Bayan Obo tailings, The results indicates that the Fe mainly existed in hematite; little occurs in the forms of magnetite and limonite, the amount of Fe in the above three minerals account to 66.83%; hematite and magnetite mainly distribute in fine fraction, the liberation degree of both which is 65.53% and 49.34% respectively, and the intergrowth mainly attach with gangue as rich aggregate. The process of high intensity magnetic separation (discarding tailings)-Regrinding of rough concentrate was recommended, based on the process mineralogy of the iron ore tailings . |
