Abstract:
In this investigation, the magnetic capture of single cylindrical elements with different diameters to ilmenite minerals is studied using Slice Matrix Analysis Method. The results of investigations indicate that for a fixed magnetic induction, the captured mass for magnetic particles decreases with reduction in the diameter of magnetic elements; for a fixed diameter element, the captured mass for magnetic particles increases with improvement in the magnetic induction, and it approaches to a steadily saturated value after the magnetic induction is improved to a certain level; and the magnetic element behaves a selective capture to magnetic particles with respect to particle diameter. This method may be used for the precise measure to the captured magnetic particles on elements, and for the experimental verification to the accuracy of related theories and simulations for single element’s magnetic capture, as well as for the optimized design of matrix in practice.
