| Abstract: |
| In order to studying the mechanism of waste incineration slag improved clay, a series of direct shear tests on muddy silty clay and slag mixture, taken from Shanghai, was performed to get the deformation characteristics and strength characteristics of mixed soil under the ranges of vertical pressures from 100 to 800 kPa. It is shown that with the increase of slag content, the shear strength of the mixed soil sample is gradually increased, and the stress is gradually transferred from cohesive soil to slag. Finally, the mechanism of improving soil-slag mixture strength was analyzed by observing the failure surface of mixed soil samples after the experiment. |
