Abstract:
Rainfall is a major factor affecting the stability of open pit mines. In this paper, according to the SEEP / W module in Geo-studio, the slope of the slope is simulated by using the saturated-unsaturated seepage theory. And the seepage law of the rainfall process is analyzed. Based on the analysis of the variation of pore water pressure and transient saturation zone under rainfall, the following conclusions are drawn: Under the rainfall condition, the surface area of the slope is seriously affected by rainfall, and the influence area and influence degree are controlled by rainfall time and rainfall intensity. The saturated area is an important factor considering the slope instability under the action of rainfall. The continuous rainfall will form a certain range of transient saturation zone on the surface of the slope. When the rainfall is the same, the larger the rainfall intensity is, the larger the area of the transient saturation zone is. The effect of rainfall on the pore water pressure and transient saturation zone of the slope foot is larger than that of the slope area, and the position of the slope foot should be considered when the relevant slope protection is carried out.
