Abstract:
The copper concentrates producing from mineral processing plant in a certain polymetallic ore contain Zn up to 10~16%, which is far below the quality index. The detail mineralogical investigation shows that the major influence factors are neither liberation insufficient, nor activation of sphalerite caused by copper ion in pulp, but there are part of sphalerite free particles containing copper. All liberation spharelite particles entrancing into copper concentrate contain Cu up to 1~2%, which is different from that one in zinc concentrate, the latter do not contains Cu mainly. There for, how to depress effectively the sphalerite containing copper in the flotation system separating zinc from copper concentrate should be a interesting new study topic.
