| Abstract: |
| The kinetics of carbon reduction process of high magnesium low nickel laterite ore by thermogravimetric analysis was investigated, the degree of reduction and reduction rate were calculated from the measurement of weight loss. Kinetic parameters were calculated by Kissinger and Flynn-Wall-Ozawa(FWO) methods, the trend of reduction process activation energy can be obtained comprehensively. The results of thermogravimetric curves show that the reaction process can be divided into two stages: The first stage is 500~800°C,the second stage is 800~1300°C. The reaction activation energy of the two stages was calculated by Kissinger method of 260.4kJmol-1 and 191.2kJmol-1 respectively. FWO method calculation results show that the reaction activation energy can vary with the temperature, indicating that the reduction of laterite is not a simple elementary reaction, but a composed of several parallel reactions and interaction reactions. |
