Abstract: |
In the process of producing barium sulfide from barite by carbothermal reduction, the purity of barium sulfide is low and the conversion rate of barium sulfate is not high due to the introduction of solid carbon reductant into the ash. Reduction of barite with liquefied petroleum gas instead of solid carbon as reducing agent. The effects of gas flow rate, reaction temperature and reaction time on barite conversion were investigated. The results showed that reaction time had a great influence on the reduction rate of barite, followed by reaction temperature and gas flow rate. Under the conditions of gas flow rate 1.5L/min, reaction temperature 1150℃ and reaction time 90 min, the conversion rate of barite was 95.9%. |
