Abstract:
The resource utilization of iron residue produced in the hydrometallurgical zinc smelting industry has always been a concern problem. The accumulation methods are easy to pollute the environment. At present, in the three mainstream iron removed methods, the hematite precipitation residue has a high utilization value of recycling, and its resource utilization has high research value. In this paper, hematite precipitation residue from hydrometallurgical zinc process was as the raw material of experiment, and investigated the feasibility of preparing high-purity iron red pigment by pickling under certain conditions. The removal of main impurities, such as sulfur, zinc, etc, and transformation of different iron phases were carried out. Studied the effect of temperature, time, acidity and liquid-solid ratio on the quality of iron oxide red. The results shown that under the 8g/L of sulfuric acid, the 220 °C of temperature, the 3h of time, and the 6 ml/g of liquid-solid ratio, the iron content of the iron residue can be increased from 58% to more than 66.5%, the sulfur removal efficiency could reach above 70%, and the removal efficiency of zinc and other impurities were over 90%.
