Abstract:
The process mineralogy of copper flotation tailings from a copper smelter in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, was studied by means of X-ray diffraction analysis, optical microscopy and MLA mineral automatic measurement technology. The dissemination characteristics and particle size of important mineral phases in tailings were systematically studied, the results show that the content of iron and zinc in the flotation slag is 39.75 % and 2.45 %, respectively. The main mineral phases of the slag are magnetite, iron olivine and glass phase, and the particle size is relatively fine. The monomer dissociation degree is only 32.15%.The comprehensive recovery scheme of the flotation tailings was analyzed.
