Abstract:
      In order to solve the problem of low density of Th-W billet sintering in medium-frequency furnace, the bottom, body and top cover of the medium-frequency furnace were technically transformed. After transformation, the thermal insulation effect of the tooling was improved and the heat resistance temperature of medium-frequency furnace was increased from 2300 ℃ to 2800 ℃. Then the sintering of Th-W billet was carried out, and the technological parameters of medium-frequency sintering of Th-W billet were studied. The results show that the sintered density at 2 300 ℃ is only 16.94 g?cm-3. When raising the sintering temperature to 2 800 ℃, at this time, it is close to the melting point of thorium oxide(3 220 ℃). And the density increases to 18.70 g?cm-3 after sintering, which meets the requirements of subsequent processing. The technological parameters of the medium-frequency furnace sintered Th-W billet were studied. The sintering density of Th-W is not affected much by the way of extending the high temperature sintering time and increasing the heat preservation platform at 2800 ℃.
