Abstract:
A refractory copper-zinc sulfide ore contains Zn 4.88%, Cu 0.36%,S 24.16%. Zinc mineral of the ore is marmatite, while pyrrhotite content is high. Marmatite has poor floatability which is similar with pyrrhotite, therefore separation of marmatite and pyrrhotite is difficult. Comparative test of four mineral processing schemes were carried out. Magnetic separation-zinc flotation process was conducted. A good flotation index was obtained which showed that the zinc concentrate contained Zn 42.31%, Cu 0.096%, and the zinc recovery rate was 85.82%, while the economy of the process was also good. On the basis, Zinc concentrate magnetic separation- Regrinding and magnetic separation of rougher concentrate process was added, which obtained higher grade zinc concentrate with zinc grade of 48.04% and recovery of 83.38%, thus zinc was effective recovered.
