| In the first six years of the production practice of cobalt electrowinning in closed electrolytic cell,itwas found Using P507 high cobalt solution as raw material, cobalt plate has many pores and high carbon content;anode slime often appeared in the electrowinning process; the anode and cathode conductive bar were corroded, resulting in the increase of cell voltage and uneven current distribution; when the electrolytic plate was discharged from the tank, the solution splashed and chlorine gas was dispersed, which affected the operating environment,In view of these problems, process research, equipment transformation and electrolysis system optimization are carried outinthis paper.The technological conditions of cobalt electrowinning determined by the process research were as follows: the oil content of cobalt chloride solution wasless than 3mg/L, the acidity of electrowinning process was 0.04~0.06mol/L, the current density is less than 500A/ m2, the temperature is 55~70℃, and the liquid acid after electrolysis was 4.5mol/l and returned to the extraction system.For the electrolytic cell, titanium clad copper conducting rod was used instead of anode and cathode conductive discharge, and internal liquid discharge device was added,For the electrowinning system, automatic acid control system and discharge pumpwas add,which ensured the current efficiency ≥ 70%, the cell voltage < 2.7V, and the chlorine concentration in the operation environment was less than 0.5ppm.After three years of operational practice,it has been proved that the improved closed electrolytic cellwas suitable for the cobalt chloride extraction electrowinning combined process, The process ran stably, the technical index was advanced and the operating environment was effectively improved.the current efficiency increased by about 3.7%,dc power consumption decreased by 660 kW h/tCo, total power consumption decreased by 810kWh /tCo,compared with before and after the improvement; The production cost was effectively reduced, the economic and social benefits were effectivelyimprove. |
