Abstract:
The slag type experimental study was carried out for a high grade copper oxide mine in Africa. The experimental study was mainly carried out on the amount of calcium oxide, the amount of ferrous oxide, the coke rate and the water content of the concentrate. The results show that copper exists in malachite. When the coke ratio is 5%, smelting temperature is 1400℃, reducing smelting time is 2 hours, CaO:SiO2 =0.4:1, FeO:SiO2=0.1, the recovery rates of copper and cobalt are 99% and 98%, respectively, and the copper and cobalt content of slag are 0.3% and 0.01%, respectively.Appropriate addition of ferrous oxide to make slag can reduce the amount of calcium oxide, too low amount of calcium oxide will lead to poor smelting fluidity; The copper in the slag mainly exists in the form of high matte, which is difficult to be recovered by conventional leaching methods.
