| Abstract: Fluorine pollution in water environment has been considered to be one of the main problems threatening human health worldwide. Adsorption method is considered to be the most promising technology for water fluoride removal. Scholars around the world are developing new adsorbents with strong adsorption and environmental friendliness. The application of rare earth compounds and adsorbents loaded with rare earth elements in fluoride removal are summarized. It is found that the rare earth compounds have a strong ability to adsorb fluorine, and the new adsorbents prepared by modified rare earth elements such as multi-metal oxides, biological materials and metal organic frameworks show a good ability in fluoride removal. The synergistic effect of different materials and functional groups can effectively improve the fluoride removal ability of the adsorbent. On the basis of summarizing the existing fluoride removal agents, the research and development of new adsorbents are prospected. |
