| Abstract: |
| Titanium is a strategic metal resource for the development of modern industry. The technical development level of the titanium industry is a vital symbol of national comprehensive strength. Although China has abundant titanium resources, most of the titanium resources belong to vanadium titanomagnetite with low-grade titanium. In the process of titanium production, it needs multi-channel pyro-pretreatment processes such as drying and roasting, which cause high energy consumption. Microwave heating technology has been commonly used in the field of pyro-pretreatment of various ores in recent years. Microwaves can efficiently and selectively heat the main metal components of ore. In this process, thermal stress and surface cracks are generated to break the wrapped phase of gangue, resulting in significantly improving quality and reducing consumption. This paper summarized the application of microwave heating technology in the pretreatment of complex low-grade ilmenite. In particular, the microwave electromagnetic characteristics of ilmenites, microwave deep drying, microwave-assisted grinding, and other typical technologies provide atheoretical references for relevant enterprises. |
