Abstract:
Vertical roller mill is an efficient equipment that integrates crushing, grinding, rapid drying, efficient powder separation and other processes. In this paper, the surface characteristics of quartz ground by vertical roller mill, dry-ball mill and wet-ball mill were analyzed. Effects of three grinding methods on the floatability of quartz under different slurry pH values, collector and regulator dosage in the dodecylamine system were further investigated. The results show that under different flotation conditions, the recovery of quartz samples from vertical roller milling is basically higher than that from ball milling dry grinding and wet grinding. The better flotation process parameters are pulp pH 8.5, the dosage of collector dodecylamine is 100mg/L, sodium hexametaphosphate and sodium silicate are not added, and the concentration of metal cation CaCl2 is 100mg/L. The high surface roughness and specific surface area of quartz samples from vertical roller mill improve the adsorption capacity of dodecylamine in the flotation process, thus improving the recovery rate of quartz.
