Discussion on lead removal technology by pyro-refining of high lead crude copper

Abstract:
      Point at the problem of high content lead and complex impurities of crude copper produced by PS converter blowing,on the basis of analyzing the occurrence status of lead in crude copper by metallographic microscopy and scanning electron microscope (SEM-EDS), the lead in high lead crude copper is removed by pyro-refining technology,The effects of alkaline removal agent (highly active carbonate containing sodium calcium) and acidic removal agent (including silica and 5% sodium borate) on the quality of refined copper and the removal of impurities such as lead, arsenic, antimony and bismuth were also analyzed.The results show that:The lead in the crude copper produced by the PS converter blowing mainly exists in the form of lead of arsenic and antimonate (Pb 3 [(As, Sb) O4] 2),As and Sb are replaced by homids;The removal rate of impurities when using alkaline removal agent for lead removal is significantly higher than that of acidic removal agent,the impurity content of refined copper is low;Add crude copper mass 0.7% alkaline removal agent,stir the melt for 14 min at 1 210 to 1 230 ℃, air flow of 1.33 to 1.80 L/min,the lead in crude copper can be reduced from 0.089% to 0.014%, and the removal rate of lead, arsenic, antimony and bismuth impurities can reach 83.93%, 96.17%, 96.64% and 92.80%.The research results can provide a reference for crude copper refining.
