Abstract:
A low-grade gold mine in Yunnan province contains 0.69 g/t Au. The gold is finely disseminated and mainly occurs in copper-lead-zinc sulfide minerals, predominantly in the form of solid solution and isomorphism, making it difficult to concentrate. The main gangue minerals in the ore are quartz, calcite, and kaolinite, which are prone to slime formation. Considering the characteristics of the ore, exploratory tests were conducted comparing flotation, gravity separation, and cyanide leaching methods. Ultimately, the flotation process was chosen for the treatment of the gold ore. The process parameters include a grinding fineness of -0.074 mm accounting for 80.60%, a dosage of sodium silicate at 1kg/t, lime at1.5 kg/t, copper sulfate at 200 g/t, butyl xanthate and ammonium dibutyl dithiophosphate at 100 g/t and 50 g/t respectively, terpenic oil at 30 g/t. A mixed flotation process with one roughing, three scavenging, and three cleaning stages was adopted. As a result, a gold concentrate with a grade of 17.70g/t and a gold recovery rate of 71.87% was obtained.
