Abstract:
The flotation behavior of rhodochrosite and calcite and mechanisms of sodium hexametaphosphate(SHMP) were studied by flotation tests, flotation solution chemical calculation , molecular dynamic simulation and Zeta potential measurements. The results show that SHMP has good selective inhibition in the flotation of rhodochrosite and calcite;the main reason of SHMP’s selective inhibition on calcite is that HPO42- can absorb on the calcite surface inhibit the rise and HPO42- is main form of SHMP in solution;at the same time, HPO42- can’t absorb on rhodochrosite surface so there is no effect on rhodochrosite. Finally, flotation separation of hodochrosite and calcite can be achieved.
