| Abstract: |
| Hafnium metal (Hf) is a rare and refractory metal with high-temperature corrosion resistance, outstanding nuclear properties and excellent processing properties, which is widely used in industrial manufacturing, aerospace, atomic energy industry and other fields. The traditional metal thermal reduction method for producing hafnium has limitations such as long process, high cost and high energy consumption. The molten salt electrolysis method has the advantages of short process, small-scale production, etc., making it a promising alternative to traditional Kroll process. This paper comprehensively discusses the research progress of molten salt electrolysis to prepare hafnium, focusing on the research status of electrolyte system and electrochemical mechanism of this process, in order to provide research ideas for exploring a new process for molten salt electrolysis to prepare hafnium metal. |
