| Abstract: |
| Crystalline graphite is an important strategic non-metallic mineral resource in China. However, the small specification of flotation equipment has been a key bottleneck restricting its large-scale and efficient development. To address this issue, this study, based on the flotation characteristics of crystalline graphite, systematically investigated key properties such as pulp suspension, froth flow, and particle size distribution through simulation calculations and kinetic analysis. This led to the successful development of a HIF/KYF-type large-scale flotation machine specifically designed for crystalline graphite, with an effective volume of 100 m3. This equipment integrates three core technologies: size-by-size differential suspension technology based on the induced classification effect, froth collection technology based on forced discharge of viscous froth, and differential configuration technology based on full-size fraction recovery. Industrial trial results indicated that this flotation machine achieved an air dispersion degree≥2.0, a pulp concentration gradient of 7%, and an air holdup ranging between 10.6% and 19.6%, demonstrating good gas dispersion and pulp suspension performance. In the industrial application at a graphite mine in Heilongjiang Province, the rougher-scavenging circuit achieved a recovery of 86%, and the content of the +0.15 mm size fraction in the rough concentrate reached 32%. These results prove that this flotation machine effectively meets the process requirements for crystalline graphite flotation, providing crucial equipment support for the large-scale development of China's graphite resources. |
